Brian Matter:

I raced Hoogerheide World Championships five years ago. It was basically a frozen crit. Niels Albert and MarianneVos won. This year, if conditions are similar, I predict the same, but with Ryan Trebon having a great day to make up for the TV boom mic incident from five years ago.

If things get a little muddy I’ll be pulling for Katie Compton to take the win and finally stand on the top step. I could see a great three-way race in the men’s with Sven Nys, Lars van der Haar, and Frances Mourey in the mud with LVDH taking the win in front of the home crowd on the final climb. Either way, with course conditions, Jeremy Powers will have a solid day in the top 10.
