It’s not too often we ring our own cowbell, but CXMagazine.com Racing‘s Hannah Saville took the win in round three of the British Cycling Mountain Bike Cross Country Series last weekend. Our UK-based squad is primarily a U23 and women’s cyclocross team made up of riders like Saville who also race other disciplines.

The event, held in the Dalby Forest in North Yorkshire, England, featured mountain bike races across classes for both men and women. Saville’s win was in the Women’s Expert Class. As reported by British Cycling, “Saville started strongly and increased her lead over the three laps to finish some 40 seconds ahead of Erica Monks (Mountain Goat Coaching). Returning from a hard crash in the previous round, Rosie Brown (Westbury Wheelers) took a well-deserved third.”

The reigning Women’s U23 Cyclocross World Champion Evie Richards, riding for 100% ME, and Italian National Mountain Bike Champion Marco Aurelio Fontana of Cannondale Factory Racing won the Women’s and Men’s Elite/Pro races. Richards got her start in mountain biking, developing her skills that clearly transferred well to cyclocross racing.

Stay tuned for print Issue 32, in which we’ll have an interview with Richards. And congratulations again to Saville!
