The UCI cyclocross season in the Northern Hemisphere is about to begin, and we’ve got some ultra low-res but final start lists from the first of China’s UCI Qiansen Trophy cyclocross races. The racing and UCI season kicks off in mere hours in China, which is nearly a full day ahead of the U.S.

All of five women’s podium winners return from 2015, with the exception of 2015 Day 1 winner, Latvian Katrina Jaunslaviete. The U.S.’ 2015 podium finishers Kathryn Cumming (Jalapeno Cycling) and Emily Kachorek (Squid Bikes) return to Beijing and will battle defending podium medalists 2015 Qiansen Trophy Day 2 winner, Sweden’s Asa Erlandsson and Latvia’s Lelde Ardave once again for podium glory and UCI C1 points.

As with years past, with a diverse, international field, unless Ellen Van Loy shows up, there’s plenty of suspense in who will prove to be strong on the day at the Qiansen Trophy cyclocross races.

Thirty racers in total will take to the start, an increase over last year’s small field. Eight North Americans (counting Christine Vardaros, who is listed as Belgian), three Australians and one Brit made the trip to contest the women’s races.

See the women’s race’s start list, in two awfully blurry pieces, and stay tuned for full coverage of the 2016 Qiansen Trophy UCI C1 Cyclocross Races. Men’s 2016 Qiansen Trophy start list is here.
