December 29th, 2009 Filed Under fantasy
Christmas week began in Europe over the past week, and from here on it, all of the cycling world (at least those smart enough to avoid that Lance Armstrong guy) turns its collective attention to cyclocross in the lead up to the World Championships in Tabor. We had our first major mid week race on Wednesday in Middelkerke with the Noordzeecross. From there, the European cyclocross peloton headed to Zolder, Belgium for the seventh round of the UCI Cyclocross World cup. Sunday’s Superprestige stop in Diegem wrapped a frenetic week in World cyclocross.

Fantasy Cyclocross Update – Week 12
December 7th, 2009 Filed Under fantasy
While the American cyclocross calendar is drawing nearer and nearer to its close, the European calendar is just heating up. The Portland Cup was the final major two race weekend in America, and it provided the fireworks that it had promised. Thousands of miles away, the top end of Europe’s talent was in Igorre, Spain, where it was only the men who were privy to a World Cup event. In, Portland, Todd Wells and Jeremy Powers split the wins between them, while Katerina Nash proved why she has a legitimate shot at both a Czech and a World Title in only a matter of months. In Spain, Zdenek Stybar benefited from an unfortunately placed lapped rider that held up Sven Nys and Neils Albert and allowed Stybar to escape to victory. …continue reading: Fantasy Cyclocross Update – Week 12

Neils Albert Draws Out the Boo Birds, Threatens Cyclocross Quit
Neils Albert made no friends today in Neil, despite the assumption that residents of the Belgian town should consider him one of their own. The crowd that showed up to the Neil Jamarktcross were left less than pleased with Albert’s tactics in the closing stages of the race, as Albert stalled on a pivotal climb, forcing local hero Sven Nys into the course barriers. …continue reading: Pro Cyclocross Rumors and Rumblings – November 11, 2009
