The final round of the World Cup was yesterday at Hoogerheide, The Netherlands. With changes to the course and muddy conditions, it was sure to be a challenge for those racers that toed the start line and Bart Hazen was on hand to capture all the action.
Cold temperatures and bright sun greeted the racers at the fifth annual Kingsport Cyclocross Cup. Forty eight racers in the Elite Men’s event, and 31 Elite Women battled for the podium.

“Namur is exactly what cross should be, a hard technical course with fierce competition.” And that’s what was on display for the U23 men yesterday as shown in these photos from Bart Hazen of the American racers at Namur.
There was a large contingent of American riders across all the races at Namur yesterday. With many strong rides, it was the Junior Men that came away with the best results, led by Spencer Petrov.
For their part, the Elite Men at the first day of the Highlander Cross Cup in Waco, Texas took to the challenging course with little concern for the toll it may take. The pace was fast and riders never let off leaving all but the strongest to straggle in.
In what looked to be by our measure the muddiest race of the season, Helen Wyman (Kona Factory) capitalized on her mud riding and running abilities, and took the win over fellow Brit Nikki Harris (Young Telenet-Fidea).

UCI cyclocross racing made its debut in the Sooner State this weekend with Ruts n’ Guts, a two-day event featuring huge prize money and a competitive fields from racers throughout the country. In a repeat of day one, Tristian Uhl (Giant South) and Amanda Nauman (SDG – Muscle Monster) powered away from their competition to take solo victories.
