BTB TV Weekend Preview Week 9 looks ahead to two stops on the USA Cycling Pro Cyclo-cross Calendar, with three total days of UCI racing action on tap. The biggest names in the sport will be in Louisville, Kentucky, for the Mud Fund Derby City Cup, taking place at Louisville’s Eva Bandman Park, the site of the 2013 UCI World Cyclocross Championships just nine months prior. The Derby City Cup was saved from cancellation at the eleventh hour by The Mud Fund, an organization headed up by six-time national champion Tim Johnson, whose goal is to support junior and U23 cyclocross riders as they rise through the ranks of American and world cyclocross. All eyes will be on Saturday’s UCI Category 1 event, where triple points in the USA Cycling Pro CX Calendar are up for grabs. For those on the east coast, Sunday’s HPCX in Jamesburg, New Jersey, is a yearly staple on the American UCI calendar and promises to be a tight and exciting affair. Defending women’s winner Arley Kemmerer will be on hand to try to defend her crown against the likes of Laura Van Gilder, while the men’s field will be a wide-open contest, as defending champion Adam Craig will not be in town to try to repeat.
