In New Zealand, cyclocross season is happening now.

It’s always cyclocross season somewhere, and last weekend, that somewhere was New Zealand, where the third annual AJ Hackett Bungy NZ Cyclocross Championships were held. Put on by the Queenstown Mountain Bike Club, the race had some interesting terrain and some fantastic race pictures. The winners of the day were Dan Warren and Anja McDonald, and hopefully we’ll be seeing more from these racers in the other hemisphere this season.

For a detailed race report, check out what Steve Knowles from Sportzhub had to say. “Queenstown delivered ideal conditions for the NZ Cyclocross Nationals in the weekend, with a tough & technical course and a splash of mud thrown in for good measure, but the big question was who would rise to take the title, a mountain biker or roadie?” The roadie prevailed, with Dan Warren taking the win.
