Happy new year! It always amazes me how busy the Christmas season is, but it’s finally settled down and I think I’m ready to charge into the 2009 road season.
I can’t think of a better way to finish off the ‘cross season that by having one of my best races of the year at nationals. After an inconsistent late-season streak …continue reading: Ending on a High Note – A Column by CX Pro Jesse Anthony

His first column was on his early season surprise form.
One to go.
Well the US Grand Prix wrapped up this weekend, and the North American Cyclocross Trophy finished in Long Island a few weeks ago, so there’s only one more race to go. The US national championships in Kansas City are coming up this weekend and that will be the end …continue reading: One to Go – A Column by CX Pro Jesse Anthony
Tim Johnson Cruises to a Mudfest Win at USGP Mercer Cup Day 1
November 15th, 2008 Filed Under cyclocross news, race results
Where the Women had a tough time on the course at the Mercer Cup on Saturday, the men were even more worse off. First, the men had to deal with sticky, relentless mud for a full 20 minutes more and second, they had one more race before them to tear up their lines. Needless to say, those North American mudders who showed up were licking their chops as they rolled up to the start line. …continue reading: Tim Johnson Cruises to a Mudfest Win at USGP Mercer Cup Day 1
Weekend Outlook and Fantasy Cyclocross Minute – November 12
November 13th, 2008 Filed Under editorial, fantasy
Another big weekend, full of valuable points, is on tap for the weekend of the 15th and 16th of November. The Superprestige makes its third stop in Gavere, Belgium while the United States Gran Prix of Cyclocross makes its third and fourth stops, with the Mercer Cup in East Windsor, New Jersey. Another balanced team will make this weeks winners, while a team too heavy on European talent may leave you out in the cold, as two thirds of the weekend’s points will come from the States. Somehow, I qualify as “the media” and will be watching, first-hand, the excitement that is this weekend’s Mercer Cup. …continue reading: Weekend Outlook and Fantasy Cyclocross Minute – November 12
From Broken Wrist to Shock Therapy – A Column by CX Pro Jesse Anthony
November 13th, 2008 Filed Under editorial, rider diary
Jesse Anthony, the current USGP leader, has been racing ‘cross for ten years and has won an impressive seven cyclocross national championships. With such a record, it’s easy to forget the Jamis-sponsored racer is only 23 years old. Jesse is returning from a broken wrist suffered this summer and is enjoying his best form yet. Not content to be only a subject of our rider diaries, Jesse rounds out the current crew of Cyclocross Magazine columnists with his PRO-perspective column debut today.
I shocked myself with a podium place in my first race back after breaking my wrist, the Gloucester Grand Prix on October 11th. I had been training hard and feeling pretty good under the supervision of Carmichael Training Systems coach Gord Fraser, but I didn’t expect to be riding with Tim Johnson and Ryan Trebon near the end of an intense hour at my first race back. Yet there I was on a sunny day in Gloucester, MA in front a near-home-town crowd with a taped-up wrist seeing …continue reading: From Broken Wrist to Shock Therapy – A Column by CX Pro Jesse Anthony
Never Trust Pre-reg Lists – A Column by Ryan Kelly

Remember when you were a kid, and your parents said how they heard Santa had to get an extra big sleigh this year? And then you remembered how you asked Santa for a Power Wheel? In your naïve little eight-year-old mind, you probably thought Santa was getting a bigger sleigh to carry your sweet, sweet Power Wheel.
Then, on Christmas morning, you rushed downstairs to see …continue reading: Never Trust Pre-reg Lists – A Column by Ryan Kelly
