Changes abound on the Hoogerheide course with construction in the area. A new start, new stairs and new turns were on tap for all the racing today.

Pre-race favorite and the number-one ranked UCI rider Jens Dekker took the win going away, finishing clear of second place finisher Thomas Pidcock (Great Britain) by 27 seconds and third place rider Thijs Wolsink of The Netherlands who was another five seconds in arrears.

American Gage Hecht took fourth in a sprint just ahead of France’s Mickael Crispin, each coming in 34 seconds behind the winner.

In an atypical finish for him, Jappe Jaspers finished further down the standings in 14th, which was just enough for him to secure his World Cup title for the season.

Gage’s teammates on course were Spencer Petrov, who was 27th, Cameron Beard in 31st, Denzel Stephenson in 37th, Eric Brunner in 43rd and Michael Owens in 63rd.

Other notables for English-speaking fans were Pidcock’s Great Britain teammates, William Cascoyne in 19th, Daniel Tulett in 26th and Ben Turner in 29th. Canadian Quinton Disera was 20th with countrymen Gunnar Holmgren in 42nd and Brody Sanderson in 49th, while Australians Noah Barrow and Ben Walkerden were 57th and 67th, respectively.
