Nash Continues to Challenge the World Champion, De Boer Maintains Lead
In the muddy fields of Azencross, Katerina Nash (Luna Pro) took a great win over Marianne Vos (Rabo Liv), riding solo to the finish line over 20 seconds ahead of second place. The “trio” leaders of the last three races was incomplete as Pauline Ferrand Prevot (Rabo Liv) left the race halfway through. Instead, Ellen Van Loy (Telenet-Fidea) rounded out the podium, crossing the line a half minute after Vos.
Sophie de Boer (Kalas-NNOF) still finished in the top ten, at ninth, which was good enough to hold her series lead over Van Loy by over a minute.
Her teammate, Elle Anderson (Kalas-NNOF), finished right behind in 10th place as the lead American. Crystal Anthony (Optium) followed in 14th place, with Erica Zaveta (Amy D. Foundation) in 23rd, Corey Coogan Cisek in 30th, and young entry Ksenia Lepikhina in 35th.
